The Blayais vineyards stretch along the right bank of the Gironde estuary, facing the Médoc, 45 km from Bordeaux.

The Terre-Blanque estate is located in the Saint Genès de Blaye area, on a 15-hectare site in the heart of the Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux AOC.

It owes its name to the colour of the soil in the Terre-Blanque locality, wholly included within the estate.

This exceptional terroir is composed of filtering chalky clay soil with a sub-soil mix of rocky limestone sometimes flushed with grey clay: this unique agronomic lends the vines extraordinary ripeness.

A little history...

At the end of our careers within large firms, we wanted to reconnect with our roots in the land while combining work and life in the heart of nature.

In 2010, the time that we encountered this renowned vineyard, we could finally implement our project of becoming owners of the Terre-Blanque estate.

Wishing to further increase the estate's reputation, we drew on the support and experience of Jacques Chardat, an oenologist graduate from the Bordeaux faculty and owner of the Labrousse estate which adjoins Terre-Blanque.

Furthermore our association with Jacques originated with a strong family tie as Jacques and Odile are twins!

What is more natural than to strengthen this reunion by generously and enthusiastically continuing to add value to the estate, by building on the work already accomplished and respecting the terroir's identity : the Terre-Blanque estate has the advantage of a long cultural and oenological tradition which makes very high quality wines with an assertive personality.

Passion for rigorous work, research for perfection, an appetite for challenge and a taste for sharing: the values that have made Terre-Blanque famous are today our own!
